This ring, handcrafted in 18K gold, features a copper coin of Emperor Constantine the Great minted in Nicomedia between 324 and 325 AD.
Constantine was one of the last emperors to keep the Roman Empire united, which would later fragment and collapse. He profoundly influenced Western history by legalizing Christianity (Edict of Milan in 313 AD). He founded the city of Constantinople, present-day Istanbul, which served as the capital of the Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire. His reign was complex, marked by intrigues and conspiracies.
One side of the coin depicts the laureate profile of the emperor (Constantinvs Avg), while the other side features a fortress with two towers.
