Gold Pendant with Egyptian Scarab
Amulets in the form of scarab beetles had become enormously popular in Ancient Egypt by the early Middle Kingdom (approx. 2000 BC) and remained popular for the rest of the pharaonic period and beyond.
They symbolised the life beyond death and were used as amulets and protection charms, and it was believed that they brought good luck.
This one, very well preserved, was made between years BC 1539 to 1077. On the back side it shows hieroglyphics meaning the name of Thutmose III
It has been acquired from a prestigious antiquarian and comes with its certificate of authenticity. Our antiques are always genuine, never replicas.
In our workshop, we have designed a beautiful 18K gold mount with a genuine emerald to enhance its beauty, transforming it into a unique piece of jewelry and giving it new life 3,500 years after it was created. In this way, we unite our work with that of the artisan who crafted the amulet so many centuries ago. This is an exceptional piece due to its delicacy and state of preservation.
The pendant's loop is rotatable, allowing it to be displayed on both sides.
