Bracelet with Ancient Egyptian Amulet . Eye of Horus
Amulets with the Eye of Horus were very popular in Ancient Egypt. Horus, the Falcon God, received an artificial eye from Ra after losing one of his own in a fierce battle against Seth. This artificial eye had healing and magical properties, which is why it became a talisman used by Egyptians as a pendant to protect against diseases and the evil eye. It also helped its wearer in the journey to the Afterlife.
This Eye of Horus, dated to the Late Period (654–525 BC), is made of green faience, a common ceramic of the time crafted from melted sand. Its state of preservation is excellent. It has been acquired from a prestigious antique dealer and comes from a private collection. A certificate issued by the dealer confirming the authenticity of the piece is included.
In our workshops, we have handcrafted an 18k gold setting that enhances and protects it, restoring it 2,500 years later to the function for which it was originally created. In this way, we connect our work with that of the artisan who crafted it in that distant time.
