Amulets with the Eye of Horus were very popular in Ancient Egypt. Horus, the Falcon God, received an artificial eye from Ra after losing one of his own in a fierce battle against Seth. This artificial eye had healing and magical properties, which is why it became a talisman used by Egyptians as a pendant to protect against diseases and the evil eye. It also helped its wearer in the journey to the Afterlife.
The amulet is made of faience, a common type of ceramic at the time, crafted from melted sand. It is dated between 664 and 332 BC (Late Period). Its state of preservation is excellent. In our workshop, we have designed a beautiful 18K gold setting to protect and enhance its beauty, transforming it into a unique piece of jewelry and giving it new life 2,300 years after it was created.
