Gold Pendant with Antique Amulet
Amulets with the eyes of Horus were very popular in Ancient Egypt. Horus, the Falcon God, received an artificial eye from Ra after losing one of his own in a fierce battle against Seth.
This Eye of Horus, dating back to the Late Period (664-525 BC), is made of faience, a common ceramic material of the time made from fused sand. Its state of preservation is excellent. It has been acquired from a prestigious antiquarian and comes from a private collection. A certificate issued by the antiquarian, attesting to the authenticity of the piece, is included.
In our workshops, we have handcrafted an 18k gold setting with a genuine emerald to enhance and protect it, returning it to its intended function 2500 years later. Our antiques are always genuine, never replicas, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
