Gold Pendant with Roman Coin

This pendant features a bronze As coin minted in Augusta Emerita (present-day Mérida) during the reign of Emperor Augustus, between 27 BC and 14 AD. Octavian Augustus ushered in the period known as the Pax Romana, during which the Roman Empire enjoyed great political stability and significant consolidation of its power.

The coin depicts the profile of Augustus with the inscription CAESAR AVG TRIB POTES. The reverse bears the inscription P CARISIVS LEG AVGVSTI, referring to Publius Carisius, who served as the emperor's legate in Hispania.

Its conservation status is excellent.

In our workshop we have designed and handcrafted for it a 18K gold setting that protects and embellishes it, and converts it into a unique jewel more than 2000 years later. Our antiques are always genuine, never replicas and are delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
