Amulets with eyes of Horus were highly popular in Ancient Egypt. Horus, the Falcon God, received an artificial eye from Ra after losing one of his own in a fierce battle against Seth. This artificial eye possessed healing and magical properties, leading it to become a talisman used by Egyptians as a pendant to protect themselves from illnesses, envy, and the evil eye. It also aided its wearer in the transition to the afterlife.

This Eye of Horus, dating back to the Late Period (664-525 B.C.), is made of faience, a common ceramic material in that era made from melted sand. Its conservation state is excellent, showing only minor restoration.

Amulet: crafted from faience between the years 664 to 525 B.C. (Late Period). Dimensions: 18 x 20 mm.

Mounting: handmade in 18K gold.

Ring size: 14. It can be adjusted to other sizes, please contact us for further information.

In our workshop, we have designed and handcrafted for it a 18K gold setting that protects and embellishes it, and converts it into a unique jewel, more than 2500 years after it was made. Our antiques are always genuine, never replicas, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
