This artificial eye possessed healing and magical properties, leading it to become a talisman used by Egyptians as a pendant to protect themselves from illnesses, envy, and the evil eye. It also aided its wearer in the transition to the afterlife.
This Eye of Horus, dated to the Late Period (664–525 BCE), is crafted from faience, a type of ceramic commonly used at the time and made from fused sand. Its state of preservation is excellent, with only minor restoration. In our workshop, we have hand-crafted a beautiful 18K gold setting to protect and enhance its beauty, transforming it into a unique piece of jewelry over 2,500 years later.
