Gold Pendant with Ancient Greek Coin
Pendant featuring an ancient Greek bronze coin dating from 359–336 BC, minted during the reign of Philip II of Macedon, who succeeded in expanding his kingdom over most of the Greek world of the time. His son and successor, Alexander the Great, would later transform it into an empire.
The obverse depicts the profile of Apollo, with his hair held in place by a ribbon known as a taenia, while the reverse features a horse and rider, possibly representing Alexander the Great as a child. The coin displays a beautiful green patina.
